Choosing A Vault Or Liner

Some basic information on vaults and liners.

Vaults and liners are “outer” burial containers, which surround a casket and usually prevent ground around the grave from sinking. They range in construction from concrete to bronze. While some cemeteries require their use, others do not, so it’s best to check with the cemetery before making a purchase. Vaults and liners can generally be bought from either a funeral home or the cemetery itself, so you may want to compare prices before you buy.

Vaults

  • Surround the casket entirely
  • Some seal
  • Range in price from $375.00–$2,600.00

Liners

  • May not surround the casket entirely
  • Range in price from $285.00–$525.00
